8-year-old Lachlan, in Under 10’s is dedicating his ride this month to a very special person… his mum, Caroline, who is also our Under 12’a team manager . ❤️
Caroline is currently battling bowel cancer, which has spread to her liver and lungs.
In Lachlan’s words, “I am riding to help my mum get rid of her cancer and to help the kids not have cancer anymore.”
He has seen first-hand just how tough a diagnosis is on a person and their loved ones. Lachlan told us he hopes that one day, “no one will get cancer anymore”.
Lachlan’s dad Darren ( Under 10 coach ) rode in Great Cycle Challenge before his mum was diagnosed, and his brother Bryan ( U12’s ) rode last year – also inspired by what their mum is going through.
And this year, it’s Lachlan’s turn to take on the ride to kick cancer’s butt! 💪
He’s already smashed his $2,500 fundraising goal and raised $2,843 (so far) to end childhood cancer and save little lives. Great work, Lachlan!
RAMS it’s not too late to donate to support Lachlan in his ride quest ….. and every donation made today will be matched
